From civil rights and immigration to public safety and AI, Asian Americans play a central role in the defining issues of our time. Yet despite being one of the fastest-growing communities in the U.S.—and one with increasing influence—our perspectives are too often missing, fragmented, or oversimplified in the national conversation.
That is why we are looking to launch the Asian American Review, a new publication that will examine how policy, politics, and power affect Asian Americans. We hope to curate thoughtful conversations about our community’s most pressing issues and spotlight fresh ideas from policymakers, experts, advocates, journalists, students, and other changemakers about how Asian Americans can navigate and thrive in the current political moment.
The Review will be housed as an independent project within The Yappie, a nonprofit newsroom staffed by young professionals that is dedicated to covering Asian American and Pacific Islander power, politics, and influence. Founded in 2018, The Yappie was fiscally sponsored by the Asian American Journalists Association until early 2023 and is now an IRS designated 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.
